LANCASTER - All of the fire companies and emergency medical service providers that assist residents of the 41st Legislative District received a total of nearly $190,000 in funding through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner’s Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, according to Rep. Brett Miller (R-East Hempfield).
“The funding will help these vital emergency service providers continue to answer calls for help in our community,” Miller said. “I cannot thank the first responders enough for what they do for our neighbors. Their work never goes unnoticed.”
Departments in the 41st Legislative District to receive funding are:

Blue Rock Fire Rescue $52,106.

Columbia Borough Fire Department $28,322.

East Petersburg Fire Company No. 1 $16,322.

Haz Mat II Environmental Fire Rescue Co. Inc. $13,524.

Hempfield Fire Company $15,246.

Lancaster EMS Association $15,000.

Mountville Fire Company $16,106.

Rohrerstown Community Fire Company $15,000.

West Hempfield Fire & Rescue Co. $14,385.
The grant funding is used to further the mission of providing emergency services. Particularly, the funding must be used for facilities, equipment, debt reduction, training and education.
Miller urged constituents to consider volunteering at their local fire company. “Our local fire departments are always looking for more volunteers - in lots of different capacities.
